The CDA(CSD) & IFA is an organisation engaged in the tasks of assisting the canteen stores authorities in improving the financial management of the Depots under them, to ensure that the financial and other resources placed at the disposal of CSD are best utilized by them and to ensure that the commercial accounts of the CSD are prepared correctly and submitted on due dates.
Consequent on the departmentalization of CSD in April 1977, the office of Jt. CDA(CSD) became operational and subsequently in 1982 upgraded to CDA(CSD). Later on IFA System was introduced in Canteen Stores Department vide Govt of India, Min of Def letter no 2850/dfa(Q)/95, dated 29-05-1998.
Provision of Fund, Compilation of Accounts, Financial Advice, Internal Audit and IFA functions are the General Duties and responsibilities of CDA(CSD) & IFA.
There are five LAOs under this organization and each LAO is responsible for the Local Audit of Stores and Cash Accounts maintained by the CSD Depots in his Audit jurisdiction. At present each LAO is allotted seven to eight CSD Depots.
